and Technology with highest distinction, She came to study in graduate school at
UC Berkeley and obtained a Ph.D. in mathematics in 2002. Since then, Dr. Radko has been
a VIGRE PostDoc and later an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the department of Mathematics at UCLA.
Dr. Paul Dreyer, RAND Corporation
Dr. Paul Dreyer is a mathematician at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, CA. At RAND, Dr. Dreyer
uses mathematical modeling techniques on a wide variety of military, energy, and security
issues. He received his PhD in mathematics from Rutgers University in 2000, writing his
dissertation on the applications of graph theory to problems in facilities placement, modeling
opinion formulation in groups, and methods to speed up searches through protein sequence
databases. Prior to joining RAND, Dr. Dreyer spent summers working at the National Security Agency
in Fort Meade, MD and one of its subcontractors, the IDA Center for Computing Science in
Bowie, MD researching topics in cryptography and computer security.
In addition to his work at RAND, Dr. Dreyer serves as the Western Site Coordinator for the American
Regions Mathematics League, a national math contest for high school students, and also serves
on the question writing committee. Dr. Dreyer has taught courses in the electrical engineering
department at UCLA and is also a professor at the Pardee RAND Graduate School, teaching a
mathematics course for public policy students. Dr Dreyer also teaches at Math Zoom Year-round
programs.
Gordon Dilger, Valley Math Circle
Gordon Dilger is Valley Math Circle's AIME mentor for the last 2 years.
Mr. Dilger also taught AMC 8/10/12 prep classes at Seoul Music/New Hope Academy,
which is a Jumping Brain Affiliate.
Prior to his AMC/AIME sessions he had also done MathCounts coaching in 2005/6.
Mr. Dilger holds a BA in Math and a MS in Computer Science.
Louise Dilger, Valley Math Circle
Louise Dilger has a BA degree in Mathematics from USC and holds a current California
teaching credential. Her 20-year teaching career includes teaching mathematics up
through Algebra II, primarily in middle/junior high school. She taught for eight
years at a highly gifted magnet school. The mathematics curriculum included
competition activities such as Continental Math League, AMC 8, and AMC 10.
For the past eight years, she has coached for the MATHCOUNTS competition as an
after-school program. Her teams always scored first or second place in the Chapter
Competition, qualifying them to advance to the State level at Irvine, California,
where her team always placed highly, and won First Place once. Tedrick Leung, 2007
IMO bronze medalist, was her student.

INVITED SEMINAR SPEAKERS
Orlando Leung, Valley Math Circle
For the last four years Orlando Leung and his wife Betty have run Valley Math Circle (VMC) in
the San Fernando Valley. VMC's main objective is to increase students' interest in math by way
of extra-curricular math activities. Their son, Tedrick Leung, was a member of the 2007 USA
IMO Team, winning a bronze medal in the 2007 IMO held in Vietnam. Tedrick is now a freshman
at MIT.
Ever since the Leungs' involvement with VMC and with multiple magnet/GATE programs, many high
achieving students and their parents have keenly sought their advice on education.
Both Orlando and Betty hold a MBA degree from USC, where they met.
Mr. Leung will give a speech at the opening ceremony of Math Zoom Summer Camp on Sunday
July 13, 2008 in the evening.
We are in the process to invite and confirm with the faculty for MathZoom Summer Camp 2008. Please check back
for updated information.
